About the Role
As the Finance and Tax Compliance Lead, you will be part of the Finance Advisory Services (FAS) team, responsible for ensuring financial sustainability and compliance. You will oversee tax compliance, manage financial reporting, and support budgeting and forecasting for our operations in Tanzania. Reporting to the Global Finance and Strategy Manager, you will streamline audits, maintain compliance with Tanzania’s tax laws, and support organizational decision-making with financial insights.

Responsibilities

Tax Compliance

  • Manage relationships with the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) and provide compliance advice.
  • Monitor tax regulations to ensure adherence and minimize risk.
  • Oversee accurate and timely filing of tax returns.

Financial Operations

  • Coordinate external audits by facilitating communication between auditors, on-ground teams, and finance.
  • Manage tax-related communications and ensure timely responses with proper documentation.

Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Lead annual budgeting and develop 5-year financial projections.
  • Collaborate with country leadership to monitor and report financial performance.
  • Support departments in aligning budgets with organizational goals and financial strategy.

Qualifications

Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, consulting, or financial analysis.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. CPA or ACCA qualification is required.
  • Strong understanding of Tanzania’s tax laws and regulations.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, including complex functions.
  • Proficiency in English and Swahili.
