Position Purpose:
The Import & Export Coordinator is responsible for managing international inbound and outbound freight, ensuring smooth customs clearance, and providing efficient and cost-effective logistics solutions. This role requires maintaining up-to-date records, expediting shipments, and keeping internal stakeholders informed about all freight matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage goods in transit by providing weekly updates, tracking waybills, and shipment values.
  • Expedite inbound shipment pre-alerts.
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders and clearing agents for customs clearance processes.
  • Generate daily/weekly reports on inbound freight and meet management or business requirements.
  • Review and maintain accurate shipping documentation and records.
  • Ensure suppliers’ invoices have complete supporting documents before submission to finance.
  • Facilitate export goods clearance with clearing agents and shipping lines.
  • Address inbound freight logistics queries using business tools like LPS, Aurora, and system 21 DI.
  • Maintain regular communication with stakeholders to provide updates on freight matters.
  • Comply with Sandvik’s Environmental, Health, Safety & Quality Management policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor or department head.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics, procurement, or supply chain operations.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Aurora).
  • Experience in customs clearance and addressing customer queries and complaints.
  • Exposure to the mining industry or related industries is an added advantage.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficiency in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong numerical aptitude and data analysis skills.
  • Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy and conscientiousness.
  • Adaptable, self-reliant, and proactive, with the ability to work independently.
