Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager, Procurement to lead our procurement operations in Dar es Salaam. This role involves optimizing procurement processes, securing cost-effective sourcing, and building strong supplier relationships to support the organization’s strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic procurement plans in line with organizational objectives.
- Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals, fostering excellence and continuous improvement.
- Negotiate and manage supplier contracts to secure favorable terms.
- Analyze market trends, pricing, and supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and fulfill their procurement needs.
- Establish and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Utilize procurement software and systems to streamline operations.
- Manage supplier relationships and resolve any related issues.
- Ensure compliance with local and international procurement regulations.
- Prepare and present procurement performance reports to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain management.
- 5+ years in a leadership role.
- Expertise in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
- Comprehensive knowledge of procurement best practices and regulations.
- Proficiency in procurement software (e.g., SAP Ariba, Oracle Procurement) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on cost reduction.
- Outstanding leadership and team management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience in international trade and logistics.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPSP, CIPS) preferred.
- Membership in the Procurement & Supplies Professionals and Technicians Board (PSPTB).
- Ability to adapt to the Tanzanian business environment.
