About TANROADS
TANROADS is responsible for the maintenance and development of the Trunk and Regional Roads Network in Tanzania Mainland, as well as conducting axle load control operations using weighbridge scales.
To support the Upgrading of Matai – Kasesya (50Km) Road to Bitumen Standard; Lot 2: Tatanda-Kasesya Section (25Km) project in Rukwa Region, TANROADS is seeking a qualified and competent Materials Technician to join their team on a specified contract.
Position Title: Materials Technician (1 Post)
Entry Qualifications
- Tanzanian citizen with a Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- At least three (3) years of cumulative experience in materials-related roles.
- Experience as a Pavement/Materials Technician or equivalent in road construction projects of similar scale and complexity for at least three (3) years.
- Computer literate, with proficiency in written and spoken English.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor and ensure laboratory experiments and tests adhere to project specifications.
- Implement QA/QC procedures effectively throughout the project.
- Inspect and test materials and completed works to confirm compliance with technical specifications.
- Ensure sample test results conform to project requirements.
- Organize, store, and label approved material samples at the site.
- Verify that all materials supplied and procured for the site align with approved samples.
- Prepare daily reports on work progress, approved samples, supplied materials, and inventory.
- Keep detailed records of all materials-related activities within the project.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Terms of Service
- Contract Type: Specified Contract for 1 year or more, depending on project completion.
- Work Location: Successful candidates must be willing to work in the Rukwa Region for extended periods.
