Job Overview

Twiga Cement is seeking an experienced Mining Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have cement or surface mining expertise and a proven track record in ensuring safe and efficient mining operations. Key Responsibilities

1. Submit KPI reports related to safety and environmental standards for mining and haulage operations.
2. Conduct monthly volumetric surveys to report extracted tonnages and update the topography map.
3. Develop and implement short-term mining plans, ensuring adherence to pit designs and stripping ratios.
4. Oversee drilling and blasting operations in alignment with SOPs to meet raw mix targets.
5. Supervise loading operations to meet quality and quantity targets, managing rock size, moisture, and material plans.
6. Reconcile mining and haulage operations with service providers through accurate reporting.
7. Uphold health, safety, and environmental compliance, adhering to OSHA and company protocols.
8. Enforce the HC Group Code of Business Conduct and Compliance Guidelines.
9. Perform any additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
• At least five (5) years of experience in surface mining operations with a valid blasting certificate.
• Comprehensive knowledge of drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling operations.
• Strong leadership and supervisory experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office, mining/blasting software, and survey applications.
• Excellent organizational, budgeting, and planning skills with a proactive mindset.
