Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT) is committed to becoming the leading provider of accessible specialized health services in Africa. Operating as both a healthcare social enterprise and through development programs, CCBRT serves the community and the most vulnerable.
As Tanzania’s largest local provider of disability and rehabilitation services, CCBRT is dedicated to preventing lifelong disabilities and actively participates in maternal and newborn healthcare (MNHC) initiatives, including obstetric fistula repairs. With the opening of its Maternity and Newborn Wing, CCBRT serves as a referral center for high-risk and emergency deliveries in Dar es Salaam and the Eastern Zone of Tanzania.
To support the expansion of our services and strengthen our team, we are seeking a dynamic and committed Obstetrician & Gynaecologist to join us.
The Role
As a Specialist in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, you will:
- Examine patients, obtain medical histories, and perform diagnostic tests.
- Diagnose and treat disorders and diseases while prescribing appropriate treatments.
- Monitor and care for expectant mothers during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum.
- Implement and uphold standards of care, including conducting prenatal audits.
- Educate patients on disease prevention, detection, and reproductive health.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan treatments and surgeries.
- Induct new staff and participate in the implementation of research activities.
- Perform administrative tasks related to OBGYN services.
- Participate in shift work and night duties.
- Provide training as part of CCBRT’s training program for employees.
The Candidate
To succeed in this role, you should meet the following qualifications and skills:
- MD with a Master’s Degree in Medicine in Obstetrics & Gynaecology from a recognized institution.
- Proven experience in outpatient, inpatient, and surgical OBGYN interventions.
- Registration with the Professional Council of Tanganyika and a valid license to practice.
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication in Kiswahili and English.
- Strong patient management and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in computer literacy.
