The CCBRT Board of Directors is composed of leaders from both the non-profit and profit sectors who are committed to advancing the organization’s mission and vision. Our board members actively advocate for the organization, believing that strong leadership and effective governance are crucial for realizing CCBRT’s full potential.
Joining the CCBRT Board offers a unique opportunity to contribute to strengthening leadership and governance within the non-profit sector.
The Role
Expectations for members of the CCBRT Board of Directors include:
- Attending four board meetings annually, preparing by reviewing materials, and participating actively in discussions.
- Demonstrating financial acumen to understand CCBRT’s financial statements and support fiduciary responsibilities.
- Serving on one or more board committees and actively contributing to committee work.
- Playing a key role in securing financial resources to support CCBRT’s mission.
- Leveraging personal networks to assist with resource mobilization and identifying potential funders.
- Supporting CCBRT’s mission by advocating for its programs and services within their communities.
- Making personal contributions to CCBRT’s work, where possible.
Board Details
- Members are recruited based on individual merits, not as representatives of specific communities.
- Terms are five (5) years, renewable for up to two consecutive terms.
Candidate Requirements
- A well-connected leader is passionate about CCBRT’s mission and capable of leveraging networks for resource mobilization.
- Prior board experience or formal board training is preferred.
- Applications are encouraged from individuals within local communities, foreign nationals, and diaspora.
