Position Purpose:
As the Warehouse Leading Hand, you will manage overall warehouse operations and ensure efficient service delivery by the team. This includes inventory management, ensuring a smooth flow of inbound goods, supporting sales operations, and driving continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining compliance with Warehouse Management standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Run an efficient warehouse operation to meet operational and customer demands.
- Supervise the day-to-day activities of team members for seamless operations.
- Inspect outgoing stock, ensure documentation accuracy, and oversee parts delivery to customers as per schedule.
- Train new warehouse operators within your area of responsibility.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment, adhering to safety standards.
- Ensure inventory accuracy and that stock movements are recorded precisely.
- Organize and participate in regular stock-taking and cycle counts.
- Keep computerized systems updated and accurate.
- Identify and recommend improvements to warehouse systems and procedures.
- Ensure proper manual handling of products and materials.
- Maintain high-security standards in the warehouse.
- Enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized working environment to enhance efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics, procurement, or supply chain operations.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Aurora).
- Experience in addressing customer queries and complaints.
- Previous experience in mining or related industries is an added advantage.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficiency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- High attention to detail and conscientiousness.
- Flexibility, self-reliance, and the ability to work independently as a proactive self-starter.
